Hands shot up all over the sanctuary as the offer of free Bibles was made. A record 40 Bibles in Spanish & English were given away at Saturday's Community Food Distribution. Please pray that the same hunger to have a copy of God's Word would translate into an insatiable hunger to read the same Word!

Do you ensure that your own minister’s ‘work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you’? (Heb. 13:17). Are you an encourager of the ministry? I do not mean primarily by speaking encouraging words (though there is a place for that, if the glory of God is the aim), but in coming to worship with a prepared and expectant heart, sitting under the ministry, with an open Bible… and being not only a hearer of the Word but a doer of it as well. Do you pray for your minister? Do you bless God for him? Do you acknowledge that in the sovereign providence of God, despite all the man’s failings and imperfections (which perhaps in many cases are remarkably like your own), he has been set apart for the work and you have not? (This is, dare I say it, a very necessary acknowledgment in these days when evangelicalism is invaded with the spirit that insists that almost anyone in the membership of the congregation can do the minister’s work better than the minister himself.) For some in Hazleton, this month may be the first time they have held or read God’s Word. At the beginning of June, we were able to give 16 more Bibles to men & women at Community Food Distribution. Continue to pray for these individuals who have expressed interest in having their own copy of God’s Word!

26 youth & 13 chaperones, representing 8 different area churches gathered at Camp Susque earlier this month for a weekend of great weather, crazy activities (see photos?!), and faithful teaching from God’s Word. Dan Renno from Hope Community Church in Mt. Carmel spoke on Self Control, a topic pertinent to young & old alike. Enjoy the photos! And keep the youth in prayer as they return to their homes & churches. Please pray: • That those who heard the faithful preaching would respond in ways that glorify the Lord • That God would be building them up in the conviction of the Lord to become the next generation of living stones. • ...And praise God for a time of sweet fellowship, joyous worship, challenging readings and discussions, and wholesome recreation.
